You are Appreciated – Mystery Stamping June

This month’s mystery stamping was hosted by Maheswari and I had lots of fun creating this card. To see the mystery stamping measurements, clues and video click HERE.

I wanted to explore some products I really hadn’t used much like the Scenic Coast Designer Series Paper and also to try out the Covered in Flowers Accents. The centre of the die cuts come out so for variation I left some in and coloured them. On the flower, I paper pieced it with the DSP.

Tips & Tricks

  • Use a contrasting pattern for the centre strip
To create a strong focal point and help draw the eye to the layered floral arrangement.
  • Don’t be afraid to mix patterns
Combining the scenic background paper with the geometric centre strip adds visual interest without overwhelming the design.
  • Paper piece the flower
This is a great to get more variation from the Covered in Flowers Accent. Simply adhere patterned paper behind the open design to add colour and detail without having to colour it in.
  • Colour your sequins to coordinate with your project
Alcohol markers are perfect for customising embellishments to match your cardstock, designer paper or ink colours.
  • Use die-cut foliage to soften geometric elements
The organic leaf shapes balance the straight lines and angles of the card layout, creating a pleasing contrast.
