Wishing you All The Best – World Cardmaking Day

SKETCH #22 EDITION 1

For World Cardmaking Day, Maheswari, Kayla and I created 3 cards using Sketch 22 from Edition 1 from The Stamping Lounge Sketch Lounge. We chose 3 different colour palettes from Edition 1 of the Colour Combos to create our card .

At first glance I wasn’t sure how I would fill in the top floral section of this sketch but as I kept stamping and adding layers, the sketch came together easily and was so fun to work with.

I started by stamping the stems and flowers from the Labelled with Love bundle in Copper Clay and Lost Lagoon inks. Around it I added some shading in Wild Wheat ink with a Blending Brush. At this point I felt it was looking a little sparse so I added some fill in stamped dots in Eearly Espresso. On top of this I stamped some chunkier dots and heat embossed them in Copper which added depth and another layer of texture to the card.

A label, die cut from Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper was embossed with the Cane Weave Embossing Folder. I went over this with Copper Clay using a Blending Brush, adding colour to the raised areas of the die cut.

Further texture has been added with a pleated strip of Copper Oxidized Specialty Paper, layered with some Gilded Specialty Paper.

A paper butterfly, blended with Wild Wheat and Early Espresso inks, sits atop an Ephemera label in coordinating colours.

To complete the card card a sentiment from the Saying Something Mix & Match Ephemera Pack has been layered onto Early Espresso Cardstock which makes the sentiment stand out against the rest of the elements. A Copper Clay bow and some Gold tone gems add the finishing touches to this rustic card.
